Punk Planet

For almost three decades, Aaron Cometbus has published the magazine that bears his name – or whose name he bears – and though he’s remained largely below the radar of the mainstream literary scene, it would be no exaggeration at all to call him one of the most important writers of his generation. He’s also renowned for the many bands he’s been a part of, some of the more notable ones being Crimpshrine, Sweet Baby, Cleveland Bound Death Sentence, and Pinhead Gunpowder. In the autumn of 2001 I sat down with him for a long conversation, about half of which originally appeared in Punk Planet and is now reproduced here.
